1.Talk about Stress
- What is mental stress?
- Name a few ways of reducing stress.
- What do you think is the best way to reduce stress?
Sample Answer
As we all know, stress can be caused by physical or mental burdens in one’s life. Generally speaking, people can reduce their stress level by sharing their thoughts and concerns with their friends or family.
Some people also meditate to reduce their mental stress. This is also a common practice and very much recommended by some psychiatrists and mind sciences teachers. Engaging in some kind of physical activity like walking, cycling, hiking or exercise and yoga also helps bring blood pressure levels down and ensures a healthy physical and mental well-being.
Among all of the above-mentioned ways of reducing tension and mental stress, I believe, meditation is the best practice of all times. It has so many other benefits beyond the common man’s knowledge. Not only does it bring your blood pressure down but also enhances your mental and physical energy. It mends the cells in the brain and regulates other functions of the body as well.
The people who engage themselves in regular meditation have been reported to be having a more efficient, energetic and active lifestyle. You can do it from the comfort of your home and it gets better and better as you practice it more. As a conclusion, I would even recommend learning and practising meditation techniques regularly in one’s life.
2.Talk about a situation when you were late. Please say
- What you were late for
- Why you were late
- What happened because you were late
- How you felt about it
Sample Answer:
It was quite an embarrassing experience when I got late from my job on the first day. I was supposed to reach there at 9:00 AM but I got there at 9:05 AM.
It was because the cab which I took got late for work. I believe I had planned my departure time well but unfortunately, it did not turn out the way I expected. The cab was unexpectedly late and when it dropped me at the office building it was already 9:05AM.
Since it was the first time I was in that building and I didn’t know where the manager’s office was, I had to ask someone to guide me to the office. It took me another five minutes to get to the office. I met my manager right at the door, waiting for me to come since everybody on the team was already there. He was courteous enough to greet me with a smile and tell me that I was lucky to have gotten there before the orientation.
I was still feeling stressed, embarrassed and exhausted due to the hurried effort I had to make to get to the office. I kept blaming myself for not being able to make it on time. That is one unforgettable experience of being late. Now I have learned how to manage time for getting to work.
3.Talk about an occasion when you couldn’t use your cellphone. Please say
- When did it happen
- What happened to your phone
- How you felt about it
Sample Answer:
There was one crucial time while travelling when my cellphone’s battery died and I had to struggle with finding my way in a city like Toronto. It happened when I had to take a train to return from another part of the city after taking a test. Unfortunately, I got off at the wrong intersection to get to the subway. I tried finding my way on my cell phone since I always use my cell phone’s data to use GPS and get directions.
This time the battery died. I couldn’t find the walking route to the right subway station and had to keep walking without guidance. It was frustrating since the whole area there was under construction without any clear walkway in sight. I remember how helpless and stressed I felt. I was about to get help from someone when I finally saw a green board telling the direction of the subway. It was such a relief. That was one occasion I cannot forget.
4.Talk about an important scientific invention
How do you think it has impacted our lifestyle?
sample Answer:
One important invention that I can think of is the airplane. I believe this to be a really important invention of our century since it has revolutionized the lives of everyone during the past many decades.
Not only does it transport passengers from one place to another in a short time but it also delivers goods everywhere all around the world. If you get food, clothing and items of everyday use delivered to the stores you shop in, it is only because of this fast mode of transport called an airplane.
Besides the delivery of goods, the tourism industry across countries has also flourished because of the regular operations of the airlines. In conclusion, I would say that airplanes are undeniably a very significant invention of the century.
